Chapter Runs from 2002

DELAWARE BLUE KNIGHTS
SALVATION ARMY TOY RUN

10 November 2002
Weather overcast and 65 degrees

The Delaware Red Knights were well represented. We had 41 members attend and won the trophy for the club with the most members. Everyone had a good time.  The only problem was when the route that was planned and run on Thursday had to be changed at the last minute as there  was a road block that forced the escorted run to detour. On a good note, several of our members along with a couple of other riders were able to assist one of the bikers that run off the road and his passenger who was caught under their Gold Wing. No one was hurt; only shook up and back on the bike to finish the run. Nice job to our members that had the emergency medical background to evaluate the situation. Congratulations to the Blue Knights for another well organized run.

Bikers from all around the region meet in the Pentagon Parking Lot to honor all the fallen firefighters that gave it all for their communities. With a police escort hundreds of bikers including 18 members of the DE Red Knights paraded through the Capital area and passed the hotel where the families that lost love ones meet us.
A message from DE Red Knight Mark Harris

On October 5th, several of us took a journey to Washington, DC to honor our fellow brothers and sisters who have fallen in the line of duty during 2000 and 2001.Even though the day started out cloudy and glooming, it ended sunny and hot.
Upon arriving at the Annapolis HD Dealership, it came quit apparent to me that not only brothers and sisters of the fire service, but several other motorcycle groups came out to pay their respects as well. As we left the Annapolis HD, we were police escorted to the site of one of the terrorist attacks ( Pentagon ). As we staged at the Pentagon, we were able to talk with several other Red Knights and with other firefighters from around the country. To see the comradery among all the firefighters, police, EMT'S made me proud of what I do for the fire service. To be in line with (1500 - 2000 bikes in my opinion ) and be able to travel past and acknowledge the families of all the fallen brothers and sisters at their respective hotels helped me draw conclusion to last years acts of terrorism. In conclusion, the day was a perfect success and I would like to personally thank everyone that participated in the event.

This ride started at 4:30am for some riders. We meet at McDonalds on Rt. 50 just east of the Bay Bridge.

Pentagon Parking Lot. We were among the early arrivals.

Several Red Knights from different Chapters

Bike Clubs from all around supported the memorial.

On the third Saturday in June, July, August and September the Ladies Auxiliary host an outstanding all you can eat chicken dinner (Delaware Duck) with all the down home fixings. We plan on being there every month.

Did you say it is only $8.00
for all you can eat?

Too bad everyone got lost.
We can eat their share.

What hospitality park
the bikes inside.

Can't wait until we ride
again to Roxana.
